In the world of design I'm always looking for creative solutions to divide a space and create intimate environments. There are so many fun materials to use but here are a few of my Favorites. 1. KriskaDecor The Chain Space Divider + Ceilings, Cladding, & Structures. I love this product because it is so versatile. I can use it as a unique space divider, or on the ceiling to create a dynamic chandelier or just to add a little drama. It can also be customized with a graphic or a gradient effect as well! 2. 3 Form This architectural resin and glass company has been around for a while. They have some beautiful unique patterns that work wonderful for a little privacy panel or screen. They also offer digital printing, curated images, and even have some unique lightart. 3. Drapery
Drapery can be added quite easily to a space to add a little drama, create some space definition, or just to add a little luxurious touch.

As the design world pushes toward more sustainable means, here are a few ideas you can do in your home to step up your sustainability game...right now!
1. Painting your home? Use low VOC paint. VOC's Volatile Organic Compounds, are carbon containing substances that easily become vapors or gases. Choosing a low VOC paint will greatly reduce carbon containing substances into the air which equals better air-quality for you and your family. 2. Switch out your Bulbs To LED! These high efficiency bulbs consume less power than traditional incandescent. When designing a new restaurant or residence I always make sure to specify LED. 3. Start Composting. Your home or business can start composting today. Composting has never been easier if you live in PHX. Recycled City can set you up in no time. They provide a bin and offer pick up and delivery service weekly or monthly. Why compost? Not only does it regenerate farmland, but it keeps your food waste out of landfills. First off what is Biophlic? Biophlic design is an applied solution to appease this desire for nature by integrating natural elements and processes into the built environment. If done right, the design should trigger a strong positive impact on the built environment. We have come up with 5 simple ideas to incorporate in your workspace or home office! 1. Just add Plants Adding these green little guys to your desk or in your office instantly adds a touch of nature. A simple idea that can be implemented on a small scale or on a large scale. How about a full height green wall! 2. Water Feature Place a water feature in your office or work area for an added dose of beautiful ambient sounds. While helping to bring the outdoors in, it also provides a calm environment perfect for getting some work done. 3. Incorporate Shapes and Patterns found in Nature Yep that's right using shapes that are found in our natural environment offers a pleasing & calming environment! 4. Color
Add a wallpaper or color that brings the outdoors in! There are so many nature inspired wallpapers just add one of these for not only a fun pop of color, but adds that dose of nature you'll want to get the job done. PC: Area Environments 5. Windows & Skylights Balance your work environment by having lots of natural light! Skylights & Windows add lots of natural lighting that will give your body that does of vitamin D needed to function and stay alert. |
